I give one thumb up for this episode of Tick Tock.
The story unfolds the Hamlet question to Penelope: Which is more important - her identity as Whistledown or her relationship with Colin?
The major characters are still Colin and Pen but suddenly we see Eloise starting to play a relevant role as villain to Whistledown or as old friend to Pen?
I think Pen’s doubt for Colin’s loyalty is quite unfounded. Doesn’t she remember how dumbstruck Colin was with his relationship with Maria? An illegitimate child compared to scandals caused by Whistledown?
Her choice to delay her revelation to Colin just proves that Whistledown’s expose just may be the only reason to look forward to this Season.
And of course, the episode would not be complete without a sex scene usually from the central characters. Is it out of true love or mere lust? Does this sex scene blow the candle/spark to the innocent love that has bloomed out of friendship?
With regards to its ending, I do admire the twist of events. Villains becoming less villains or even heroines in their own way. Giving a different perspective to women who are forced to do what they think is right because society pushes them to do so.
I guess Shondaland would like to answer Freud’s debate for social behavior - Is it the genes or the environment which motivates our actions?
Looking forward to the next episode. Please like my blog if it sparks!
